Meraki Fitness Studio respects your privacy and handles your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

When you send a message we collect your name, contact details and what you write. When you join the waiting list we also collect your age group, emergency contact, goals, class preferences and your answers to the health questions. When you enter an event we collect your entry details and emergency contact. Event payments are handled by Peach Payments, and we never see or store your card details.

Why we collect it

We use it to reply to you, manage your membership, plan classes that are safe for you and contact your emergency contact if something goes wrong. Health information is special personal information under POPIA, so we only collect it with your consent and only use it to keep you safe while you train.

Who sees it

Only the studio owner and coaches. We do not sell or share your information. Our website and email are hosted by service providers who process data on our behalf and are bound to keep it secure.

How long we keep it

For as long as you are a member and for a reasonable period after that, then it is deleted.

Analytics

If you allow it, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful. It only loads after you say yes and you can change your mind by clearing your browser data for this site.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time, and you may object to us processing it. Contact us at hello@merakifitness.co.za. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
